Last week I spent a couple of days in Glasgow, Scotland. Within these days I checked the frame and possibilities for a new project about the Irish minority of the city. So watch out, hopefully more will come soon. Below a mural of the history of the football club Celtic FC. The mural is in the pub "Bar67" in the Gallowgate area.

Last week started the new harvest season of hops in the little city Tettnang, in the Bodensee region, Germany. I had the pleasure to work with the author Andreas Steidel about a story of the economical, cultural and historical meaning of hops for the people there and beyond. The story will be published in the german magazine ARTUR soon.

Here's a first picture of a new series which is in the pipeline. Beside using the casual professional camera of Nikon I discoverd an old 'Click camera' of the company AGFA years ago.
The allure is that you can only control the size of the lens (2 oppertunities) and with the ASA-code of your film the colors and the exposure in a way. All the rest is more or less a product of furtuity.
More pics will follow....

Since years I'm photograhing usual people taking pictures of their families, realtives or objects, statues, etc in the public space. It mostly seems that they are as tourists and visitors on the place where I discover and photograph them.
The idea of the series is inspired of a picture made by the great Martin Parr (please, have look here) and the thought of the late author Susan Sontag written in the chapter in her book On Photography where she discribed the change of the camera to a common documenting tool for the wide general public.
Last weekend I was in the german capital Berlin and continued the series. Here is a strong selection:

Have been on tour with the band 'THE WAKES' from Glasgow, Scotland. They call their style GlasgowIrish Folk'n'Roll which means a musical and lyrical melting pot in the tradition and style of bands and artists like The Pogues, The Clash, The Wolfetones and others. Their lyrics are refelcting the being as part of the Irish Diaspora and community in Glasgow plus the facts and results of the ruling sectarianism and the history of the Irish Immigration to the UK.
Below is a strong selction of pics of the tour through France and Germany last Eastern weekend.

Here is one of latest publications. A story about a hotel and restaurant named "Hofgut Himmelreich", which is next to the city of Freiburg in the Black Forest area. The special point about the "Hofgut Himmelreich" is that a main part of the staff is handicapped. A fine little story and example how handicapped people can be part of a common daily life. Author was Mathias Becker. The story is published in the magazine ARTUR.
